What does a consultation entail?

The first step is the taking of a case history.

Secondly, a variety of tests are conducted in a sound proof booth to establish if one’s hearing is below the optimal (all equipment used in the practice is calibrated to ensure accurate and reliable results).

After the testing, all of the results will be explained to you.

Should the test results reveal normal hearing you simply have peace of mind that all is well.

If a hearing loss is identified we will work with you to explore the options that you have with regards to treatment and rehabilitation. Some of these options may include referral for medical intervention or the fitment of a variety of hearing instruments which would improve the quality of hearing and consequently the quality of life.

If you decide to try a hearing instrument we will offer you a free trial period complete with adjustments and support. When selecting and fitting a hearing instrument several factors are taken into account to find the best possible solution with the maximum likelihood of a positive outcome.

An initial consultation usually takes approximately one hour.
